The first major NBA 2K22 roster update of the 2021-22 NBA season went live on November 5 and many players from across the Association received ratings boosts. Several NBA players saw their OVR boosted to +3 or higher, including two of the league's rising stars in Jammerlandt and LaMelo Ball.

Morant, the second overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, continued his rise through the league in the first few weeks of the 2021-22 season. As of early November, Morant was averaging over 28 points per game, helping his Grizzlies finish sixth in the Western Conference. In recognition of his strong start to the season, the 2K team gave Morant a +4 OVR boost. The Grizzlies guard now has an OVR of 89.

LaMelo Ball and the Hornets are off to a 5-4 start, while Lonzo Ball's brother is off to a very hot start. Ball now has an OVR of 87, a +3 improvement over his initial NBA 2K22 rating.

Other notable upgrades include Clippers forward Paul George (+2, 90 OVR), Bulls guard DeMar DeRozan (+3, 88 OVR) and Spurs guard Dejounte Murray (+4, 86 OVR).

There were also some overall downgrades, with arguably the biggest being traded to Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard. The NBA 2K21 cover athlete received a -4 OVR downgrade as Lillard now has an OVR of 90. Nets guard James Harden also received a multi-point downgrade as he also has an OVR of 90. "The Beard" started the season with 92 OVR.
